Analysis of heart beat kinetics in chest screening radiography by dynamic flat-panel detector system

Background

Sequential chest radiographs using a dynamic flat-panel detector (FPD) have easily taken more than by conventional imaging modalities. We developed a method of kinetic analysis for the heart beat kinetics to be used as a screening aid.

Research

Using a modified flat-panel detector (CANON CXDI-22), we took 30 sequential images (1344×1344 pixels, 12 bits).. We created a subtraction image from the maximum and the mimimum ogg the contraction images chosen from all mages, and analyzed the horizontal signatures of this image and then identified the heart wall section which based on the maximum and minimum pixel values. We will analyze the heart beat (contraction width) by measuring the displacement of the heart wall by its pixel values.
